You may need to adjust some settings and/or use a different player.
Also, the CD-ROM that you are using may not have enough bandwidth to
play a VCD properly, esp. if it is a parallel port model.
Using Xing Player, you can adjust the settings for performance vs. quality,
and that'll speed things up a little bit.
Also, use full screen mode or a tiny window -- anything in-between will
slow the Libretto 50 down a lot because it is running only at 75Mhz.
You may want to reduce the color depth from 32-bits to 16-bits or lower -
adjust and play until you find something that works.
The best you maybe able to get is dithered 256 colors in full screen mode
or full colors in a tiny window on the L50 -- that's what I remember
getting until I overclocked it to 100Mhz, and it was a little more responsive
then, but certainly nothing amazing still.
The L50 will play VCDs, just not at the 30fps you'd expect off a desktop system
-- nothing you can do at the 75Mhz it is running at (unless you overclock;
maybe like Xin's L50 @ 166Mhz would probably do a whole lot better).
