Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 11:34:41 +0100 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Anke Otto) Subject: Libretto 70CT won't recognise Tosh 6.4GB HD - Help please Hi List, I have come across this mailing list on my quest for information to allow me to upgrade my 70CT with a 6.4 GB harddisk. I have downgraded the BIOS to 6.20 as suggested on the Adorable Libretto page, but the Libretto is still not recognising the disk - I experience the following problems on boot: - the harddisk light comes on during boot - [there are no noises from the disk itself to sugesst it's being accessed], - the memory check runs etc - after a long wait the 'please insert system disk' message appears - when I run fdisk it reports 'no fixed disk' - when I check the BIOS setup during start up it has not found the disk I was wondering if this problem might be related to the non-earthing of pin 28 as suggested for the 12GB disk mentioned on the 'adorable' page, but wouldn't know how to check this. The shop I bought the disk from has installed it into a new larger notebook and it appears to work fine there. Anybody had similar problems, and/or might be able to help? Any hint would be greatly appreciated!
