Upgrading to 32MB RAM total will help greatly as well.
Getting rid of IE using 98lite.net's 98lite helps a whole lot as well - win98
gobbbles up almost all avail. RAM just to boot; but takes far less with IE
stripped out - why give a web browser so many resources on a limited L50 if you
don't need to? (use Opera or Netscape instead)
No 16-bit USB as far as I know of.
32-bit PCMCIA card is reported incorrectly on the 50, which only has 16-bit
cards.
