Subject: If it ain't broke...
After breaking the "Never change more than one thing at a time" rule, my
100CT (running W95 OSR2) now has a mouse which hangs intermittently on the
screen during movement, and the machine seems to be running at about 75% of
normal speed. No error messages of any kind. This change appeared to occur
after ripping 2 CDs using a freshly downloaded copy of Audiograbber (and
Winamp). But I also downloaded and installed MS Power Toys, and the Tosh IR
driver, during this same general time frame.
I've uninstalled or turned off all the potential offenders, and still the
problem persists. Safe mode appears to not exhibit the problem. An older
version of Norton Antivirus (V5.0) detected no viruses.
Everything functions, programs execute, etc., but it just drags.
I realize this is vague, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion on where to go
next with troubleshooting - or is it reinstall Windows time? Thanks.
Lee
