Karen,
depends if you have a CDROM which you can boot from...if not, as I haven't,
you need an installation which will load from the hard drive. Mandrake 7.1
is the most recent version I know of which will do this.
You'll need to build a windows or dos partition big enough to hold the first
CD, and to copy the disk to it from another machine - network or parallel
port link. Then build a boot floppy in the manner described in the help
files in the dosutils directory, boot from it in 'text' mode and Bob's your
uncle.
It is possible to get e.g. Mandrake 8 on by loading in another machine, but
(a) there isn't enough memory to run the loader on the Lib, and (b) KDE2 is
memory hungry and therefore pretty slow on the lib.
M7.1 is rather hard to find these days - all the links on the net lead you
to the latest M8 download, but you may be able to get it from one of the
linux cheap disc places, if you ask nicely...
