Subject: RE: Linux Install?

Hi there, Michael.

Now installing RedHat v7.0 Linux on my Libby 70.

I recently bought a Mobile CD-Rom drive (PCMCIA) supported by TOHIBA.

Installed DOS plkus the DOS drivers to access the CD, that worked okay.

I copied the files loadlin.exe, vmlinuz and initrd.img from the first CD,
and started the installation with:

C:loadlin vmlinuz initrd=initrd.img

The kernel started to run, and the installation menu came up, good!!!
After some questions, there was the question: "Do you have a driver disk?"

The next question was: is the CDrom interface SCSI or Other.

I selected "Other", but it wants a driver disk again!!!

RH 7 doesn't seem to be aware of the ATAPI CD-Rom interface, so it doesn't
see it.

How is that with RH 7.1??
Doe sit see ATAPI devices???

Help!!!

(As the installation doesn't allow me to install directly from CDrom, I'm
now copying the BASE and RPMS directories to my Libby HD, that is still in
the process (wow, lots of data!!!), so lets see it I can fire up LINUS that
way.

Would be great to hear your inputs/comments

Cheers

Robbert
