I use a 256 Mb compact flash type I memory and also a 1G IBM microdrive compact flash type II (this one is, in fact, an HD). They are inserted in my L110 PCMCIA slots by using an adapter. They work fine. The flash card is faster than the L110 original HD, and the microdrive is slower. But normally I cannot notice the difference. It is not that big. With Sandisk coming out with a 1Gig compactflash card next year, and compactflash -> 2.5 IDE Adapters available, it seems like I could run with no moving parts. Sounds tempting. Then I could keep the libby in the truck and it wouldn't mind the cold in Colorado ( i think ). While 1G is not a lot of disk space, being conservative (running UNIX...) I could live with that.
