Subject: Re: Windows XP - Am I the first

Just to let you know that I have successfully installed XP in a Libretto
110CT - no problems at all - a lot faster than Windows 98 and a lovely
desktop. I have also done this on my 'big' laptop and this, too, was easy.
The only difficuly I had was making the network cards work. The 'big'
laptop needed a new one (! - no updated drivers for my old one) and although
PSION have sent me (free of charge through the post) W2000 drivers for the
Combined 56 / 10-100 IT card (network and modem) in the Libretto only the
modem part has successfully updated. The hairy light bulb has gone,
unfortunately, but XP has battery management facilities. Everything else
Toshiba works, even the 'light' for the caps lock.

I also upgraded the HDD to 10GB. I used Drive Copy to copy the original
Win98 'image' and then copied this to the new HDD (which was FDISKed and
FORMATted on the Lib110CT) so the hibernation partition is the the correct
place. Because I FDISKed on the 110 the HDD is only seen as 8.4GB.
However, XP sees the rest. Although this is the case I don't know what to
do with the rest of the unallocated space as the Lib BIOS will have put the
hibernation partition at the end of the 8.4 (this does not show as any space
on XP computer management window). Any ideas out there? I suppose its the
same as W2000 so can any one with any experiecne of this advise?

Best wishes

George
