I know that it was a registry hack, and removing it in Device Manger, or uninstalling the Software in control panel has no effects, it stays in the registry. As I recall it, there is some lines in the registry that tell the mouse program what ports to look at, and it defaults to looking at all comm1 to 4 ports you have installed. Basically you uninstall the reference to the port you are using the GPS unit on. Of course with streets and trips crippled gps support, I'm not sure you will be happy with it, anyway unless you patch it.
