I think this one is slightly different (its actually the PowerXTender emPower unit)
... there's a flylead going from whatever plugs into the laptop and ending in what
looks just like an old AT keyboard plug (I actually managed to plug an AT keyboard
into this thing, I'm not turning it on though!). That plugs into the main unit which
has another flylead that terminates in an emPower aircraft in-seat power plug. It then
comes with an adapter that you plug THAT into to plug it into an automobile cigarette
socket.

Well OK if I run it off the bench supply, with the libby connected and a voltmeter in
parallel, the voltmeter stays solid but a few times a second it'll kick down to about
5 volts then back up ... its actually rock solid with no load. Its also rock solid
with the libby connected when I plug it into the car cigarette lighter. According to
an ammeter connected in series with the libby, when I was testing it I was drawing no
more than 1.04 amps, on full power I've only ever managed to get it up to 1.1 amps or
so ...

Dunno why I wrote this, it doesn't ask any questions and it doesn't answer any but
then again I've written it so what the heck ;-)
