It might have loaded it a a windows sound system device (wss) - if it works 
sixteen bit, ignore it.

I haven't a clue (mine's working linux atm) but treat it as a standard VGA 
monitor and it'll be fine. It is *possible* to completely screw up the 
screen display by getting the access and refresh rates wrong but you really 
need to be tweaking a linux X driver to achieve it. The screen is like the 
vast majority of LCDs - it's actually fed *sequential video* the same way a 
monitor is, rather than addressing each pixel individually by the CPU.
