Great setup, I have followed your posts on the list. I like the 6500 mAh
output of the Ni-MH D cells and they are lighter, about 3 pound vs. 7 pounds
for my 7 mAh gel cell. The cost is a lot more, however.
With the flood of digital cameras using AA, 2100 are available now and 2000
are being unloaded. I got mine at a computer show for less than two dollars
each, I opt for individual charging of the cell and a 10 cell charger are
available also. I do plan consider the D cell at a lower price. I see 15
dollars each now.
My current extended uses away from a wall outlet is 4 hours. On the bicycle
I only power up the Libretto at night to upload and download from the gps.
