Subject: RE: [LIB] Bios Upgrade for 1100V?

Hi Thom,

I've disassembled my 1100v enough to remove the drive and it is not very
difficult. Not as easy as for my old 50CT, but still pretty easy. The case on
the 1100v comes apart easier than the one on the 50CT.

Have not tried upgrading the bios.

Subject: Bios Upgrade for 1100V?

Greetings! It's my first post! I've had my 1100v (and a 70ct as well) since
2000.

I'm getting ready to put a larger drive in the 1100v, and hopefully install a
dual boot of win2k and Linux.

I've ordered a 7200rpm 40gb drive, hoping that'll perk up the performance for
win2k a bit. I disassembled it a bit, just to get an idea of how difficult it
will be to get the drive out, and it looks none-too easy. Not like the 50/70
anyway.

Either way, the bios on this box claims to be version 7.20, and I've seen (on a
German site) version 7.30. I'm not sure I want to flash my bios from some
random internet site. Has anyone with an 1100v upgraded their bios? Will 7.20
run Win2k without major headaches?

Thanks in advance!

-Thom
