Ken, I do not know what your FF 1100V power connector looks like, but
from your description, it sounds like you have been forcing the
electrical connections to make good contact by applying some pressure to
the connector.
If the cord that plugs into the computer has "sockets" that mate with
"pins" on the computer, the "sockets" may have opened up allowing a
sloppy or poor contact to the "pins". In fact, your "putting something
under the power connector", may actually have made it worse by opening
up the "socket" even more.
Does this sound like what may be happening? If so, you need to tighten
up the sockets - perhaps a gentle squeeze with small, needle nose pliers
may work.

Subject: FF 1100V Power connector

HI,

I have a 1100V that has been trouble free for ever. I recently notices
that I had to put something under the power connector going into the
1100 to get the charging light to come on. It gradually progressed, to
my horror, till It will no longer charge. I was able to get an external
Battery charger on ebay to charge the batteries but I am at a loss to
repair this. (if at all possible) I have asked some of the local PC
repair shops here and they can't help. Anyone heard of this before or
any Ideas on the steps to take to diagnose this problem to see if
repairable?

Ken
