Subject: earthlink
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem with
earthlink. I signed up for cable high speed and web
hosting with them. I authorized them to deduct the web
hosting directly from my account. The high speed I was
paying directly to the provider Time Warner, and this
was the way things were supposed to be paid according
to both of them. The next thing I knew Earthlink was
deducting whatever they wanted from my account--high
speed, and web hosting and didn't pay my regitration
fees. They have refused to put anything back. So I
canceled all my stuff with earthlink. The amount they
owe me is pretty small about 150-200 dollars so its
not worth paying court costs to sue. Does anyone know
how common this is with them? All I know is there are
approximately 35,000,000 people using the internet in
the US alone (1996 stats) so even if Earthlink or any
ISP makes a 'mistake' like that with just a quarter of
the tat its a huge sum of money--if they take a month
to refund it they can -- shall we say 'play' with a
huge sum of money on just straight interest rates
alone. And I know ISPs are VERY bad about refunds.
What are they worth--hmmmmm!!!????
