"..the WLAN card in windows.."?? What's that David? Sounds like wireless... yes? He amy have to invest in a lot of hardware to go that route.
Then there's the method of transferring the x:\386 files from another system to the Libretto via a parallel cable and a free DOS Laplink-like program like File Maven:

Boot the Libby to DOS with a Windows boot floppy, start File Maven on both systems, and transfer the x:\386 files from the remote system's CD-ROM drive to the Lib's hard drive. The parallel cable will be pretty darned slow, but it's a good alternative if other's fail.
But it seems the language issue might be one of your biggest headaches John. Keep us posted on your progress. We're always glad to lend a hand.
