I've never had any such problem with running Winamp on either of my Librettos (50CT and 100CT) ... the 50CT ran Win95OSR2 and the 100CT booted 98SE and 2000 (both also booted Red Hat 6.2 but I never got around to trying MP3 playback under that). The only difference I can think of is I used the latest version of Winamp 2 - I never tried any higher on the Librettos (at the time I didn't like 3 so I stopped monitoring Winamp updates until recently). Do your plugins *need* Winamp 5? Otherwise 2 might be an option to try ...
Winamp versions 3.x were complete failures. I don't know as a fact I've read or heard about, but I suspect it had something to do with being bought by AOL/Time Warner. With v5.x, it reverted back to it's old interface. The 5.x versions add the library function that I so missed in the 2.x after switching over the MusicMatch there for a while.
So yeah... it seemed like the mouse problems may not have popped up until the 5.x versions. I'll load one of my old copies of 2.x and check it.
Meanwhile.. anyone running Winamp 5.x?
Matt
