Subject: Margi DVD-To-Go problems
I picked up this card on EBay, and right out of the starting gate am having
problems.
I downloaded and setup the latest WDM drivers for the card to run in W98SE
on my 110. But the Margi video player didn't play audio or display video
(black sreen) when running an MPG file. It showed the file being played by
way of the time cursor moving, but nothing more.
I uninstalled the driver and software, and then found info on having to
enable the SV port in the advanced sound driver settngs from its system tray
icon.
But after repeating the process of inserting the card, and directing the new
hardware dialogue to the proper folder & file, the Windows 98 installation
process popped up and started to run its installation after setting up the
Margi drivers.
I Ctrl-Alt-Del..ed and stopped the process. On another occasion I found the
process aborted itself finding an improper command line switch having been
run. I've since disabled W98's setup.ex_
But now when I try to launch the Margi DVD-To-Go media player, I get an
error message:
. "Unable to load hardware driver MMSYSTEM262"
MMSYSTEM.DLL is the target dll, and all I can find online about this says to
uninstall the Margi driver, and reinstall it. But after several tries I
find it doesn't resolve the issue.
Not a whole lot about these puppies online anymore, and Margi is not
providing support at this point.
Reading through the archives didn't come up with anything. Seems you tried
an MPEG-To-Go card Lee, but didn't have any luck with it either.
Any chance someone on the list has dealt with this?
Thanks,
Matt
