Because there have not been a formal release for a long time since 1.0.8
was released on 04-May-2010. Please read Pete's post.

BTW, OpenUSB is kind of dead as well even though Michael Lewis is still
coming out of release. Are you interested to get a port of libusb/libusbx to
Solaris/OpenSolaris (but OpenSolaris is also kind of dead)? You can
probably reuse quite some OpenUSB codes.
