As a matter of fact, I do need to go through a firewall before I could connect to the real world outside;) I've set proper environ values for HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY, so there is no problem using most of the functions correctly. Actually, I haven't encountered any problem using libwww 5.7 and 5.8 version:-)
