I would really like to switch to git as I think a distributed version control system would make it easier to get new contributors and I like git. If we decide to switch I would be more than happy to do the conversion as I've already done it once (http://gitorious.org/licq/trunk-svnmirror). Github seems to provide an issue tracker that could be enough for our needs.
