That is (I think) the reason why it isn't working for you.
I don't know what you mean by "it enters some weird unanticipated state due to
something that happens before." Let's see:

By "enters some weird...." are you refering to "20:28:45: [SRV] Logging
off."??? That was forced by me. The important thing is this:

As you can see, there's no activity between 20:31:26 and 20:39:32... Without
your patch I get:
21:15:13: [SRV] Requesting logon (#26798)...
21:15:13: [SRV] Connecting to login server.
21:15:13: [INI] Resolving proxy: proxy.bensa.ar:3128...
.
.
21:15:23: [SRV] Connecting to login server failed, failing event
21:16:12: [SRV] Requesting logon (#26799)...
21:16:12: [SRV] Connecting to login server.
21:16:12: [INI] Resolving proxy: proxy.bensa.ar:3128...
.
.
21:16:22: [SRV] Connecting to login server failed, failing event
21:16:24: [WRN] Attempt to logoff while not logged on.
21:16:27: [SRV] Requesting logon (#26800)...
21:16:27: [SRV] Connecting to login server.
See the difference? Without your patch I see this:
Request -> Connecting -> Failed.
Request -> Connecting -> Failed.
.
.
Request -> Connecting -> Logged.
WITH your patch I see this:
Request -> Connecting -> Failed.
Request............. nothing.
I'm sorry, I don't know how to express myself. English is not my first
language and it's hard for me to says what it's going on.
