i was able to reproduce it in a simpler way: i had changed the icq server field to a name that doesn't exists. if i change it back to the original value, and try to go online, no packet goes out the network interface (not even a dns packet [ but that could be cached by the resolver library]. -- Buenos Aires, Argentina
