I want to thank everyone that replied on this. Derek's suggestion of  
GAE is intriguing and I am at least going to check it out - I'm a  
little weary of that persistence situation with GAE since I don't have  
any experience with JDO or JPA. However, if GAE does not work out, I  
like the Mosso approach suggested by Tim below. This app has very  
minimal bandwidth requirements so  I suspect Mosso will be cheaper  
than Slicehost. Thanks again!
