Very much appreciated (it is one of the many reminders I get of Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" quote “If you're in trouble or hurt or need–go to poor people. They're the only ones that'll help–the only ones.”). But it seems pretty clear that we'll not get into "treading water" domain for my situation any time soon, and this time I don't have a buffer for experimenting. so I wouldn't be able to hold up my side of the deal, needing to prioritize getting into a different situation. I am bad enough holding up my side of a deal when I commit to it, so it does not make sense going there at the moment. But I am not sorry I asked. -- David Kastrup
