Hello again, all
Forgive me for being naive, but I am having real problems integrating Lilypond
with LaTeX.
(Mac Monterey, TeXShop 5.57, Lilypond 2.24.4)
I am not an experienced LaTeX user. I have worked through some tutorials (at
learnlatex.org) and am able to do basic formatting, import images, etc, but
thats about all.
I thought it was possible to embed a lilypond file, or run Lilypond in LaTex.
Does anyone know of a GOOD TUTORIAL, including ALL the obvious instructions,
for making a book with Lilypond / LaTeX?
I'm hoping to find something like:
*
Open TeXShop and type "\documentclass{book}"
*
Save your Lilypond piece in "...this directory with this prefix..."
*
in TeXShop, type the following lines of command:
*
\ whatever command
*
\ another command
*
\ etc commands
*
drag your lilypond file here (or type in the name and path of the file here:
".....")
*
click "Typeset"
*
Voila, here is your pdf !
Unfortunately, I get bogged down with instructions such as "invoke
lilypond-book" (what does that mean?) or "move this from the inactive directory
to the active directory" ...? and "run this from the command line".... again, i
dont know how to do these things.
Just being able to make a simple book, 3 or 4 pages with 2 very short sample
scores would be very helpful; once i have the bare bones, then i could use it
as a template and experiment with formatting, etc.
If I need to get rid of TeXShop and use some other editor, let me know what
works.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Internet searches are worthless, of course.
