Yes it is.  It is one of the properties defined in the grob-interface, which
the Slur object supports.  You can read all about interfaces in the Learning
Manual - section 4.2.2 Properties found in interfaces.  This is important
reading if you want to understand overrides fully.


There also seem to be inconsistencies or omissions in the
documentation – eg  the PhrasingSlur #’positions property is
given as an example in the Learning Manual but is not mentioned
as one of the PhrasingSlur settings in the Internals Reference.

Pretty much the same answer.  The 'positions property is part of
the slur-interface, which is supported by the PhrasingSlur object.
