although i don't use it (or any other notation software for that matter),
lilypond looks great. there seems to be a new feature announcement on their
mailing list every couple days. as for sequencers (and any other music
software for that matter), i've found the page at
<http://www.bright.net/~dlphilp/linux_soundapps.html> to be the most
thourough; dave tested scads of music programs and listed them here with his
results.
