Right then. I am in the publication business, printing to be exact.

A neat thing got dropped on the desk, Customer presentation. Namely
how to integrate technology (beyond computer mouse controlled slide shows, read:
Powerpoint) into a condensed introduction to facilitate the
POS.

As this is a 'sales' viewpoint I have a mandate to KISS (keep it
simple, stupid.).

I _want_ to use linux for this. We currently use linux as a
BlackMagic box (almost but not quite common RIP) from FUJI corp. and as an
advocate would be stupid not to "put my money . . ." etc.

Any help would be appreciated, the focus is (from the PHB in charge)
"add visual and audio to create an atmosphere of technological competence"
meaning a 15 minute intro to make everyone feel comfortable with each other.
(15 minutes because I am in sales and I know that the touchy/feely lasts _at
max_ fifteen minutes. Beyond that you've lost the sale.)

I am a coder and am prepared to integrate our estimating dbase to a
'not-quite' accurate local (spawned from laptop)(oddly enough this will be
based on a dbase another misguided soul has done on "excel") estimating feature, as
well as
ordering , ftp, etc. . . ..

Here's the crux. I am not a muti-media professional. I am only the
'computer-guru' at this office. I need your help. I am a coder, what can I
use, and what do I need to make this a reality.

One note: as there is no 'defined' time frame for completion are things
like holographics and goggled VRML around the corner?
