Anyone familiar with the state of layout/publishing apps for Linux?
I'm looking for Pagemaker/Quark Xpress clones, or roughly similar,
don't need the latest & greatest. A good word processor would
probably do.
The best possibilty that I've found that lets you try it first
is Axene Xclamation, but they're not responding to my multiple requests
for a temporary key. Makes me suspect that they're flaky.
I'm trying to lay out a largish zine. I'm not that picky about
design. About four years ago, there wasn't anything, so I used LaTeX,
which is just not suited for visual layout (& neither is LyX).
