I'm editing my second book, _Rumored to Exist_, using emacs under
Linux. It works better than anything, but I do have some ispell
gripes and I'm about two spellchecks away from either finding who is
responsible for it these days, or writing some modifications myself,
or both.
I just got an Olympus D-460Z digital camera, but I'm still in the
phase of taking pictures of the inside of my refrigerator, and vaguely
thinking of various projects to do with it. I will say that photopc
and phototk work *great* and had me up and running in seconds. I had
great fears that I'd have to use the goofy proprietary WinDoze
software to get images off of the camera, but this stuff worked
great. In fact, I even did a reboot and installed the manufacturer's
software to see if I was missing anything, and photopc/phototk is
*way* better. Faster, easier, and more features! And I have the
source, so I can tweak it if I ever want to do something silly like
batch processing or launching gimp straight from the photo thumbnail
screen.
