I believe it’s an Eastern Milk snake. From your picture, it might be this variety, but they have many striking patterns and they are nonvenomous. I have one that’s taken up residence in an hollowed out tree trunk. It's been curled up like this all afternoon and into the early evening in a pool pump shed. For size reference, the light bulb is a basic incandescent.
