I get the same thing, and hell if I know what triggers it. I've got a
PowerBook G3 bronze 500, plenty of memory, OSX.1.3 and 9.2.2. Dir85
and 851 exhibit the same goldang problems.
It's totally unpredictable, at least from this side of the screen.
Doesn't seem to matter what I've done in X or 9 or Director.
Sometimes, when I want to drag something from the Cast to the Stage
(or to the Score), powie. When I drag inside the Cast, powie. When I
drag sprites in the Score, powie.
Somewhere in there Director tries to render a ghosty version of
what's being dragged -- you know, with a dotted outline or whatever
-- and that seems to be the point at which it takes a dump.
I haven't got the vaguest notion where or why it happens, and it is
truly damned annoying. I know Macromedia knows about it but so far
they have failed to offer any suggestions on what to avoid doing.
Thing is htis happens to me infrequently enough that I don't worry
about it that mugh -- I can go for days with no trouble at all.
