I think the idea was that when one types "member().', that a popup 
appear with all the props & functions that could be applied to 
'member()'.

For now, I think using the aids that Director has already included 
might be teh best way to go.

1. Use the Lingo by Category popups (as Colin suggested)

as mentioned, selecting & releasing an item auto-pastes the default syntax.

bonus trick:
selecting/releasing with the shift/option/alt key down causes the 
Lingo Dictionary to open to that item.

[little known info]
a batch of effort went in during d8.5 to clean up these menus so that 
they autopaste updated syntax.

2. Use the PI (Property Inspector) in it's List View.
  press the button in the upper right of the PI, to see the 
props/functions that apply for each of the 'tab-things'
