Hi, I know that the XML Parser Xtra allows Director movies to read, parse, and make use of the contents of XML documents.
I have also downloaded the xml_parser_xtra.pdf from the Macromedia web site. Using the XML Parser http://www.macromedia.com/support/director/internet/using_xml_parser_xtra I am using the XML Parser written by Andrew White. Having gone through the archives, I understand that they are parent objects. A parser object is created using Lingo to assign new instances of the Xtra to the variables which will hold the data to be randomized from the XML variables and the retrieved XML data. And together the lingo statement will create a property list from a string of XML data. The common problem highlighted on the Direct-L list is receiving scripting errors thru using this. But this is not what I encounter. Rather why does using the XML parser cause the .dir movie to crash? I do not think it is that unstable. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? TIA [To remove yourself from this list, or to change to digest mode, go to http://www.penworks.com/lingo-l.cgi To post messages to the list, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Problems, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Lingo-L is for learning and helping with programming Lingo. Thanks!]
