Lingo's "the date" returns the date in the format the computer uses (this could be DD MM YY or MM DD YY). "the systemdate" returns the date in the exact same format regardless of the date format on the computer (YY MM DD). Lingo's "the time" returns the time in which ever format the computer has been set to. Unfortunately director has not got "the systemtime" command therefore I used the xtra "BuddyAPI" that would return the date in the same format regardless of the format it has been set on the individual computer. The problem is that it keeps crashing!
