Director is reasonably good at most of what you want to do. It can take in text, communicate with other programs, print and e-mail (via xtras). Again, Director is optimized for multimedia. It does other things pretty well, including text handling--it's no slouch. It's just that, if your app isn't a media-rich app, some other languages are more generalized than Director. If you already know Director and Lingo, it's pretty good. If you don't, though, I'd look at C#, maybe Visual Basic. They may be better suited to such a task. If you know Lingo, though, it's probably not worth the learning curve to use another language. Still, the toughest part of the whole thing is going to be the translation part. If you can use third-party translation software, I'd say you were in business.
