For windows 2k and xp(i think) it should be here: C:\Documents and Settings\-whatever user you are logged in as-\Application Data\Macromedia\Director MX 2004\Prefs I don't know where it is on a Mac
the 'same' place:
/Users/<Username>/Library/Application\ Support/Macromedia/Director\ MX\ 2004/Prefs/
not sure why it ends up here.
I think because it is safe and proper to write custom data into the users folder and not into the application folder, which may be shared by different users on a multi user system like XP or OSX is.
