I'm pretty big on doing speed tests with Lingo. Some months ago I built a
movie which do some comparisons between "20th Century Lingo" and "dot
notation Lingo." One of the results from the test was that dot notation
operations *can* be slower.
In my example movie, posted at
http://www.director8.com/special/instanceVsPropVsGlobal.DIR.hqx, you will
see some of the dot notation differences.
