As far as I know it is standard and works with most (if not all) the popular
e-mails programs. As far as documentation...I don't know of a source. I got
most of my info from this and other list's previous postings.

Size will be limited to the size of strings in D8 and e-mail programs. You
can get around the string size limitation by breaking you message up into
multiple variables.

If the end-users mail program supports HTML then sure. I know some still
don't and some people hate getting e-mail in the form of HTML.
