Go to Amazon.com and buy Bruce Epstein's "Lingo in a Nutshell." It only
covers through D7, but it's a great introduction.
For more on D8 features--more advanced stuff like imaging lingo, timeout
objects, and the like, Gary Rosenzweig's book "Using Director 8" from Que
is excellent.
