Would be nice if it was true  ;-)
Any mac file-format can have a resource-fork, but it is common for 
formats found in crossPlatform environments not to have a 
resource-fork.
A good example is .img files, which Apple regularly use to distribute 
software. Because it has a resource-fork, people with access to 
broadband PC's can't use them to download .img files, say at school, 
and bring them home.
It is true though, that a Mac application always has a resource-fork.

Karina has made it quite clear, that this is a matter of workflow for 
her, that's why she needs to worry about it. As karina seems to be 
aware of, the key to _not_ having these problems lies in using the 
Mac when doing the crossPlatform maintenance.

Also not quite true:
Some programs filter their fileOpenDialogs based on type/creator 
codes, and so wont show files of unknown kind.
