>XML looks pretty simple.

That example is pretty straightforward. It can be a lot more sophisticated,
though.

><books/tutorial etc?>

How about someplace free? http://www.xml.org/

In addition to using xml in Director, I've set up an Apache server on my
local machine, running Cocoon, which is a servlet that processes XSL code
(XSL is the language designed to process XML, and XSLT is a subset
specifically for transforming XML to another format--currently, often HTML.
XSLT stands for eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformation.)

If you go that route, I can point you at the right resources--I wrote our
company's guide to installing the Apache/Cocoon environment. I can't offer
you that guide, of course--the company owns it, not I--I but I don't mind
sharing the info I picked up along the way.

Cordially,
