If you are starting out and need doco ( as I have just gone thru ) get http://sdb.suse.de/download/s390x/update/SuSE-SLES/8/images/sles-admin-zseri es_en.pdf the document is what I needed a week ago . I just did a "dasdfmt --help" command, and got this: and <diskspec> is either -f /dev/dasdX or --device=/dev/dasdX if you do not use devfs or -f /dev/dasd/xxxx/device or --device=/dev/dasd/xxxx/device and alternatively -n xxxx or --devno=xxxx in case you are using devfs. xxxx is your hexadecimal device number. So, looks like this was changed at some point, and I didn't notice, because I didn't use the "-n" option very often. Looks like I need to update my SHARE presentation. :P Mark Post -----Original Message----- From: Lucius, Leland [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, September 02, 2003 12:45 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: SuSE SLES8 64-bit + dasdfmt > > When did that happen? Unfortunately, I'm off for an overnight R&R with NO computer!!!! (I don't know if I really like that idea. ;-)) Leland __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For information about the Standard Bank group visit our web site <www.standardbank.co.za> __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Disclaimer and confidentiality note Everything in this e-mail and any attachments relating to the official business of Standard Bank Group Limited is proprietary to the group.
