I have 2 z/OS LPARs and 1 SuSe Linux LPAR. I have 2 OSA/e shared between all three of these LPARs. If I shutdown both OSA interfaces on the Linux LPAR using "ifconfig ethX down", then the VIPA becomes unresponsive on the z/OS LPAR. If I start the OSA interfaces backup using "ifconfig ethX up" the VIPA becomes responsive. The VIPA that becomes unresponsive is also the LPAR which is the default managing LPAR for the OSAs.
I have spent all week pouring over routing tables but do not see anything unusual. Has anyone experienced this problem before or can point me into another direction? Thanks.
