Ralph,

When you take into account all of the costs associated with the x86
approach (floor space, UPS circuits, software, software maintenance,
hardware maintenance,  downtime, backups, disaster recovery capability,
network connections, support FTEs, etc.)  it doesn't take many x86 systems
to blow $100K.  Thanks.

Too costly...$100k for an IFL...
Hate to say it..and believe me I am a mainframe guy,, have been for 25+
years and will always be.. But I don't control the purse strings... But
can buy x86 to run your linux for a whole lot cheaper
