No, that has nothing to do with it. Non-GPL modules can call any kernel function they way. This message was added to direct people with non-GPL modules to the people that wrote them, and not expect the kernel developers to figure out the problem. They didn't write it, they may or may not have the source code for it, so don't bother them, essentially.
