Since it might be easier to get it now than to squeeze in an upgrade later, you might want to get 16GB. That should give you around 21GB, 3 expanded leaves 18 for your apps.
I was somewhat surprised at the HSA requirements, in a similar situation I have a customer with about 5.3GB available for Linux. Somewhat less than I thought we would have. Your potential workload is going to eat memory for lunch so go for it now.
