Why not only put MySQL's data on the LVM? The doc at: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/installation-layouts.html indicates that the log files and databases are put in /var/lib/mysql. So, just mount the LVM at /var/lib/mysql. Don't bother anything else in /var at all. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer UICI Insurance Center Information Technology This message (including any attachments) contains confidential information intended for a specific individual and purpose, and its' content is protected by law.
