yes, or better: I can't connect a tn3270.
That's what you have to do for VM/370, IIRC (I use Herc
for Linux/390 work, and haven't used VM/370 in a couple years, so
this is from memory and could be wrong):
Start Hercules.
Connect a tn3270 session to Hercules.
*THEN* IPL VM/370. It will recognize your attached tn3270 session as
the console.
I start hercules and in the same shell where I've started it I issue
console commands.
Alternatively I can use the web GUI.
Also, I notice you're running 2.17. 3.02 is current, and it might be
3.03 (I don't remember if 3.03 is released yet or still in testing).
I know, but... laziness ( apt-get install hercules )
Although this changes some tape handling semantics, its performance--
well, at least for Linux--is a lot better.
Well, I'm a newbay of hercules, and I'm experimenting... debian-390 is
one of the next;
and excuse me in advance for the too much simple questions that I will
do in the next future... ;)
